Your hosts at the Lakmini Lodge are the father and son team of Chandi and Nandana respectively. They can also organise excursions for you, including Kayaking (which can be seen in the video).
Breakfast is included in the price. There is a restaurant and other meals can be purchased there.
Sigiriya is in the cultural triangle of Dambulla (19 kms) and Polonnaruwa (54 kms), and as such is an ideal stay over point.
The Sigiriya Rock itself (known literally as Lion's Rock) can be seen on all sides and with its 180 m height, this rock fortress is impressive. It will take you approx. 1 hour to ascend the rock, and 30 minutes to descend the 1,200 steps. The frescoes are world famous, and the intricate palace is a place of wonder. It became a World Heritage site recognised by UNESCO in 1982.
You can also hire a bicycle if you wish. There is also regular bus service that stops opposite this guest house to Dambulla..
