Your hosts at the Kivga Holiday Bungalow are Rajitha and his delightful family who will look after your every need and your onward travel arrangements. They can provide guests with a filling Sri Lankan breakfast for just 500 rupees per person.

Guests have access to the shared living area. Barbecue rental, airport transfer and tour arrangement services are also available.

The property is 2.5 km from Sri Maha Bodhi – a sacred fig tree in Anuradhapura and the Western Monasteries are 4 km away.

The Ugan Bungalow is in a quiet neighbourhood of Jaffna, yet the principle streets of Jaffna, Stanley Street and Hospital Street, are only 5 minutes drive away by tuktuk. The Nallur Kovil temple, the no. 1 attraction in Jaffna, is only 5 minutes drive away as well.

If you want to walk to Jaffna town from the Ugan Bungalow, it will take you 30 minutes.

Your host is called Gunnanithy. Gunnanithy and his helper Naudrayan will be  on hand to assist you. He is the owner of 3 bungalows all very close to one another, of which Ugan bungalow is the largest.

The Ugan Bungalow has experienced problems with wifi connection and may not be available, or if available may be unreliable. If you depend on wifi connection, this is not the place for you.

Meals can be provide for you with prior arrangement. The simple breakfast costs 150 rupees per person, and lunch/dinner costs 200 rupees per person.

There is ample car parking.

 

Kalum Homestay, Sigiriya

Kalum Homestay faces the famous Sigiriya Rock. As such it has an amazing view of Sigiriya Rock in front of the lake, Sigiriya Tank, from its outdoor covered lounge area. Therefore a privileged and unique location.

Your friendly hosts are the husband and wife team of Kalum and Kumari.

After seeing the impressive palace fortress of Sigiriya Rock, Kalum will help you get the most out of visiting Sigiriya as he has homemade maps to help you discover the surrounding area. Great to visit by bicycle.

Kumari is the cooking specialist. You are welcome to come and join her in the kitchen as she prepares local delicacies.

Room types include AC double and triple rooms. Strictly speaking the double rooms are twin rooms in that they comprise of two single beds. They can be separated if you wish. Similary the triple room comprises of three single beds, of which two are together and can also be separated. All beds are comfy and clean, with white bed linen.

The room comes with AC and a fan to help you keep the room cool. Mosquito nets are also provided.

The private attached bathroom contains a toilet, douche, wash basin and a hot shower.

There is free wifi enabling you to keep in contact with family and friends.

The room is being offered on a HALF BOARD basis (breakfast and dinner included) so that you can get the full homestay experience. After tasting Kumari’s cooking, you will fully appreciate this option.

Being a jungle area, you will hear the sounds of birds and monkeys.

The homestay is 10 mins walk from Sigiriya Town.

Green Star Family Guest House, Jaffna

The Green Star Family Guest House in Jaffna has four family rooms. Each family room has two double beds.

Kobi and Roshan are in charge of running the Green Star Family Inn and are at your disposal to help you with your enquiries about the house and the surrounding area of Jaffna.

Of the four bedrooms, two have air-conditioning, and two are without. All have ceiling fans.

Each family room has its own private bathroom with wash basin, mirror, toilet, douche and shower. There is no hot water but this should not be a problem given the hot weather in Jaffna. 

There is free wifi throughout the property to help you keep in touch with family and friends.

The Green Star family Guest House is unusual in that there is a common kitchen, enabling you to make your own meals as you wish. There is also an iron plus ironing board available.

This Jaffna guest house is ideal for families in that all rooms have two double beds. It is located on the A9, also known as Kandy Road, and is convenient to Jaffna town which is only 10 minutes drive away.

 

 

Angel Beach Inn, Uppuveli

The Angel Inn Beach of Uppuveli is a newly developed resort right next to the beach. The rooms are built around a garden courtyard giving the place a relaxing feel to it. Ideal for beach lovers and those interested in water sports such as scuba diving.

All room types are AC and non AC double bedrooms. They are tastefully decorated in black and white throughout, and comprise of one double bed with an attached private bathroom. The wifi is free as is the parking.

There are ceiling fans in all rooms to help you keep the room cool.

The attached bathroom offers a toilet, douche, wash basin and shower without hot water – but don’t worry, you will be thankful there is no hot water in order to refresh you. The bathrooms are unusual in that they offer a water shoot feature.

There is a restaurant area right next to the beach. The drinks are very affordable.

Your host is Kajan who is in charge of reservations. The other members of staff will also make you most welcome.

Western breakfast can be purchased at a price of 450 rupees per person + 10%, or try the local breakfast for 350 rupees + 10%.

With being directly on the beach, this resort is likely to become highly popular. There are only five rooms so book early to avoid disappointment.

The Angel Inn Beach is off the Nilaveli Road in the region of Uppuveli.

Look out for the Angel Inn Beach sign on the right as you head north next to a small fish market.
