Station Garden Motel, Jaffna

The Station Garden Motel is located on Point Pedro Road. This road joins Stanley Road to the north and Hospital Road to the south. Both these roads head to the centre of Jaffna town, some 5 minutes drive away.

Room types include triples both one double and one single bed as well as three singles, doubles with one double bed, twins with two single beds and one single room.

The Station Garden Motel in Jaffna has been revamped completely to give it a good clean new look to welcome tourists and locals alike.

Your assistant manager is Kuddy who do his best to respond to your requests to ensure that you have a memorable stay in Jaffna.

All rooms can be sold as with or without air-conditioning. For without air-conditioning, the air-conditioning remote is not made available to the guest.

Rooms at the Station Garden Motel also come with free wifi, a user friendly laptop work area, cable TV and tea & coffee making facilities.

Please note that the Station Garden Motel is close to the railway track so some noise from the train can be expected.

Taprospa Palm Leaves, Jaffna

This Taprospa Spa & Resorts is known as Taprospa “Palm Leaves”. Located on 2nd Cross Street, it joins Hospital Road, which is one of the main roads that goes into Jaffna town. It is only 5 minutes drive away into Jaffna town, and 10 minutes to the Nallur Kovil Temple, the number one attraction in Jaffna.

The Taprospa Palm Leaves resort consists of 7 rooms, has a small restaurant and a swimming pool.

Look out for steward called Kajan, and your chef Ruwan. Both these gentlemen will be on hand to help you have a memorable stay here in Jaffna.

Room types include doubles, with one double bed, and twins, with two single beds.

At the Taprospa Palm Leaves, you can expect all the normal luxuries of ceiling fan, AC, tea & coffee making facilities, hot water, free wifi, cable TV and parking.

The Ugan Bungalow is in a quiet neighbourhood of Jaffna, yet the principle streets of Jaffna, Stanley Street and Hospital Street, are only 5 minutes drive away by tuktuk. The Nallur Kovil temple, the no. 1 attraction in Jaffna, is only 5 minutes drive away as well.

If you want to walk to Jaffna town from the Ugan Bungalow, it will take you 30 minutes.

Your host is called Gunnanithy. Gunnanithy and his helper Naudrayan will be  on hand to assist you. He is the owner of 3 bungalows all very close to one another, of which Ugan bungalow is the largest.

The Ugan Bungalow has experienced problems with wifi connection and may not be available, or if available may be unreliable. If you depend on wifi connection, this is not the place for you.

Meals can be provide for you with prior arrangement. The simple breakfast costs 150 rupees per person, and lunch/dinner costs 200 rupees per person.

There is ample car parking.

 

Subhas Hotel, Jaffna

The Subas Hotel has 3 categories of rooms. Their top category is called luxury, their second one is called deluxe and their third category is called standard.

Room types on offer are luxury triples with one double and one single bed, deluxe doubles with one double bed and standard twin with two single beds.

All rooms at the Subhas Hotel in Jaffna are being sold on a room only basis – breakfast is not included and can be purchased separately.

All rooms have a ceiling fan and air conditioning.

Only luxury and deluxe have access to wifi and a hot water shower. The standard rooms do not wifi in their rooms, nor do they have hot water showers.

All have attached private bathrooms with wash basin, mirror, toilet, douche and shower.

If you are feeling hungry at any time of the day, you can always go to the multi cuisine restaurant coffee shop for a drink and a bite to eat.

The railway station is only 300 metres away, and Jaffna’s number one tourist attraction the  Nallur Temple is only 2 kms away. The Casuarina Beach though is a distance of some 30 kms.

The owners of the Subhas Hotel have refurbished the hotel to make it a working entity again.

Uthayan Guest House, Jaffna

The Uthayan guest house is in an envious location. It is located in a peaceful residential area only 5 minutes walk from Stanley Road which is in the centre of Jaffna town.

Some rooms have beautiful views of the flowers and bushes in the manicured gardens. Some of the nicest gardens I have seen in Jaffna.
